Staying Healthy by Staying Ready
My Must-Have Kitchen Appliance * Cuckoo Rice Cooker
The importance of staying ready permeates into all aspects of one's life. Whether it's honing your jump shot, studying for an exam, or learning a new language, just to name a few, you practice, learn, and prepare yourself because you never know when an opportunity is right around the corner. If only I had practiced more, if only I had started sooner, if only I had worked out during winter...
The same applies to healthy eating. Staying ready has helped me make better food decisions. In my kitchen, this is the awesome Cuckoo pressure rice cooker I use for rice and quinoa (or mix of both). I usually have a mix of brown rice, white rice, and quinoa.
I started out with Cuckoo's 3 cup rice cooker, then graduated to this 6 cup, and am currently loving my 10 cup rice cooker, the Cuckoo CRP-P1009SW Electric Heating Pressure Rice Cooker.
I needed a bigger rice cooker because I started to eat more home cooked meals and this was a convenient, worth every penny must-have kitchen buddy. If you meal prep or eat a lot of rice and quinoa (I'm a big fan of fried rice with Beyond Meat sausage, tofu bibimbap, and kimbap with JUST Egg), I would buy the 6 cup or 10 cup, but if you mainly cook for one and eat rice a few times a week, then the 3 cup is a great option!
It saves time on cooking and I can quickly scramble some JUST Egg and layer it on top of rice, get kimchi out of the fridge and I'm ready to eat well. Or quickly make bibimbap (mixed veggies with rice bowl) by stir frying vegetables and adding it on top of rice and quinoa with a little gochujang and sesame oil. Deelitefully delicious indeed! Instead of grabbing junk food when I'm busy, I'm enjoying a warm home-cooked meal. xo
STAY READY TIP: Ready Set Kimbap! Kim means seaweed and bap means rice in Korean :) When cooking vegetables for bibimbap (veggie rice bowl), also save some for kimbap you can eat later. When you want to eat kimbap, you can quickly roll roasted seaweed paper with the ready rice and ready vegetables. Finito! Healthy vegan meal is ready to eat!
