Cajun Fried Tofu | Blackened Tofu with Rice Crumbs * 케이준 튀긴 두부
Beautiful, subtle, and elegant coating of crunch in your lunch :)
Now let's talk about crumbs, rice crumbs! Yes, covering tofu with rice crumbs gives it a beautiful, subtle, and elegant coating of crunch in your lunch (or any meal :) The rice crumbs I used here are from Trader Joe's. If you don't have any rice crumbs, you could use really fine bread crumbs but I love this with rice crumbs the best.
Now let's talk spices! This scrumptious fried tofu is blackened with cajun spices. You can make your own cajun seasoning by mixing together spices (garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, black pepper, cayenne pepper, paprika, salt, and other herbs). To save time and because I love this seasoning, I use Chef Paul Prudhomme Blackened Redfish Magic Seasoning. I use it in stir fry and other dishes as well.

Prep Time: 3 minutes
Cook Time: 7 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes
INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 block of firm tofu (about 8 oz)
1/2 cup rice crumbs
1/2 cup Chef Paul Prudhomme Blackened Redfish Magic Seasoning
- 1 Tbs Miyoko's butter
INSTRUCTIONS
- Pat dry tofu.
- Cut tofu into 1/4 inch thick rectangular pieces.
Cover the tofu with rice crumbs then cover in blackened magic seasoning.
Heat a nonstick pan to medium high heat.
Spread 1 tbs Miyoko's butter on hot pan and spread it around the pan.
Add the tofu pieces. Flip tofu after about 4 minutes or until browned and repeat browning on flip side (about 2 minutes).
TIME TO PLATE: I love this cajun fried tofu with quinoa and plain spinach with roasted sesame seeds and nutritional yeast. The seasoning on the tofu tastes great alongside a side of plain spinach. But you can also add a little bit of chopped green onion, a dash of salt, and a droplet of sesame oil to mix in with the spinach for more flavor.
